My experience with Fine Dining

What does one typically do on a birthday?Cut a cake..Receive gifts…attend calls…thank umpteen FB frnds for their wishes and ….Yes u got it right … Treat the above!!
So can u go to KFC ? Chungs ? Domino’s?Naaaa… too baccha . College goers treat there…So what are my other “elite” options .Khansama , Toscano .. Fava .. Sunny’s or anything in and around UB City .This is where I fell prey. And which of the above did I pick??
Sunny’s J

After supposedly hearing aawesome reviews of the place I felt I need to try it out with my Gondu.
So we went there on a perfect Sunday evening at an ideal time of 8.We chose the corner table and sunk ourselves in the ambience. The setup was relaxing … quaintly lit in corners. And now time for some food … wat do we order?I dint know. So I called up this friend of mine to suggest something as he is always gaga about the place …His reply “ Order anything from the menu , food is really good here”.Hmm interesting  suggestion.. anyways my Gonds chose Lamb chops and I chose some unpronounceable chicken dish plus we also ordered a prawn starterJ

My gondu and me were eagerly surveying the place and during this process the waiter comes in with a complimentary bread and butter. Don’t we all Indians love things when free??Both of us were happy …but our joy was short-lived …why ?The bread was so hard that I could damage the head of my friend who suggested this place (I had half a mind to do that) . But what can one do … U never complain. Its Fine Dining .So after using all my canines n molars I managed to break that into few pieces . Bread powder all over my dress , napkin , table .. thank god we got the corner table. And shortly afterwards they got the starters ie; Golden Fried Prawns.I could not believe my eyes . 4 pieces :O that too adulterated with some coating to make it look FAT( which it dint!)

I thought the main course would compensate the bitter experience . And when the waiter arrived with the dish I was amazed by its looks .Whoever said don’t judge anything by it looks MUST HAVE HAD THIS DISH!! It was far from good. A wrinkled tomato in the corner as a decorative ,butterfly shaped pastas, super salty chicken,  a puddle of inedible orange sauce and my favourite --Green  bitter leaf J And to make my experience even better mosquitoes starting biting me .I guess even they wanted to experience Fine Dining JBut surprisingly my Gondu’ss dish was really good which was such a relief . So I consumed most of his dish .Check arrived .My fine evening came to an end with a sizeable hole in my pocket J
But one cannot complain .
Why ? Because it fine Dining .
You need to develop taste for it* J J

What time will you leave?

Every day I ask “Tom when will you leave?”
“At 6.30 Neet” is always the answer I receive.
But yet I ask the same question every single day,
“Neet I shall leave early” hoping you would say,
I feel like a princess caged in a jail,
Oh my Dear prince come soon and help me Bail,
Please rescue me, Get me out of here,
With you around me I have nothing to fear
So tell me my love when will you leave?
I hope this time it’s a different answer I shall receive!:D

Love Knows no Boundaries

It was beautiful Wednesday evening when I fell for him,
I wanted to make him mine it was my current whim,
He was Chocolaty and adorable just the way I want,
I crazily wanted him after all I needed to Flaunt,
But little did I realise that he came to me quite steep,
I was so much blinded by love that It was him whom I decided to keep,
After few hours of being with him the reality begins to dawn,
Oh my ex lover the lust for you is gone,
You showed your true colour, you hurt my feet
Tom you were right I should have picked a Sasta chappal from Com street!!

Love

Shopping

We Girls love to shop. Let it be on weekends , festive seasons or whenever we find time. The insatiable need to add a new member to the already obese wardrobe family never ends. There is always a room for that extra black dress .
Why when you already have two?
“Because I have georgette and crepe , not chiffon”- came a quick reply.
This dangerous addiction has taken over a vast majority of female race and is fast approaching the male clan too...Scary isn’t?
So a careful study was planned and I asked few shopaholics what tempts them to shop .
Findings –

1.       Shopping because you genuinely need something.
Eg: You buy a bag as your old one is abused to death
Valid excuse.
But It doesn’t mean you can buy a Hide design worth 3k.
Result : Guilt free youJ

2.       Buying things out of boredom .
Eg: You are waiting for your friend outside commercial street and in the meanwhile u think why not pass time entering the nearby store. You wander around the store find a pretty red scarf and the sales man does his job .Even though you would have never worn a scarf in your life you buy it.
Why?
Common excuse -“That sales guy showed me so many things so I thought it won’t be appropriate to leave the store without buying anything . And anyways the scarf looked good, I can gift it to my niece.”
Result :Happy salesman

3.       We buy because others brought it / Its a "Standard" issue.
Eg: “ Hey you what almost everyone in my team has a blackberry , Its high time I buy one too. "You may hardly use the features in blackberry , Still you justify saying “If I need....”
Result : Welcome to the club.

4.        We buy things because others want us to buy.
Eg: You go out shopping with friends , during the numerous try-on’s your friend feels that this particular kurthi fits well on you. You hate it but your friend manages to convince you that you need to buy it.
Result :Happy friend , Unhappy you.

5.       Unintentional  buying
Your friend wants to buy something so you accompany her with no intention of shopping But .....
Result : Guilty you.

6.       Buying things because it’s cheap.
Flea market goa: “Hey look these earrings are so pretty  “,”How much does it cost?” ,”25 Rupees ma’m”
“Really !!” (You are shocked hearing the price ) “ I need 6 of these in different colors”.
Result : You will remember its existence after 5 months of it gathering dust.

7.       We buy things out of whim/ Impulse buying
You go to the electronic store to buy an ipod and while visiting the section you spot a home theatre in the new arrivals , you already have one but this one has better features ( Even if u may not use any). As expected you fall prey to the latest development in technology.
Result : Instant gratification + last week of that month you are on shanti sagar meals..

8.       We buy things as its in offer.
Now this is one of the most dangerous forms of shopping . You will find the need for a thing which you dint even knew existed. The 50% off in shopper stop , 75 % off in Mango ....so temptin..
Result : Crazily happy you + Long credit card bills +leg pain standing in long lines outside trial room+  impatient spouse/Friend with Prefix etc J.

Now after all this revelation do you still feel like shopping?
If yes then you are not alone :P

PS: Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go Shopping ;)

Why does one feel the need of a thing only after someone else wants it??

You reach office in the morning, check the mails and when you feel everything is settled down you think it’s time to catch up on the daily news stories .
You wander around office searching for the newspaper and after 15  minutes of searching you find the newspaper quietly perched on your colleague’s CPU. You ask him if you can borrow it for a while, His immediate response – “I am reading it”. While its very evident that he wasn’t reading , he may “feel-like” reading it just because you wanted to borrow it.

Same goes with when someone borrows your book/Pen/DVD’s/ Money/Car..
The book which had gathered dust was finally asked by a friend and within days of your friend borrowing it you see an intense desire of asking it back . Why? Because suddenly you feel you need it. You might have million other books in your shelf but it’s that one book which your friend has taken you need. You call your friend, inform that you need it by tomorrow and your friend regrets to inform that it has been taken by some other friend of hers. You request her to track the chain of people whom this book has been passed on to and return the book asap. Within a week your friend rings you “ Hey lets meet at the coffee shop this Sunday noon, I have your book with me “, Me-“Great , c u there”.
You meet this friend on Sunday , she returns your book back. You return back home place the book back in your shelf. The furthest you ever go reading it is till the index. Why? That urge you had for reading this book is gone .But you satisfy your guilt saying you don’t have enough time to read it or similar such excuse.

Another incident which caught my attention was when I saw my friends stock their entire kitchen with liquor on October 1st.Why?
October 2nd is a dry day in India on the occasion of Gandhi jayanti .Now my question is why did my friends who rarely drink want to stock up so many liquids?Their reply -“What if we “feel like” drinking today then we will have no place to buy “.

We human beings are silly, weird and incomprehensible creatures.

We want things which we don’t have ,
And forget the ones that we do,
You might have one pretty girlfriend
But you wouldn’t mind your best friend’s too;)

Cheers
Neet
